Soit ss un nombre réel. On note par M=(s1s111001)∈M3(R)M = \begin{pmatrix} s & 1 & s \\ 1 & 1 & 1 \\ 0 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} \in \mathcal{M}_3(\mathbb{R}).
Question 1

Déterminer les valeur de ss qui font que la matrice MM n'est pas inversible et déterminer l'expression de la matrice inverse M−1M^{-1}. Vous préciserez les conditions associées à l'existence de la matrice M−1M^{-1}.

Soit X=(x1x2x3)∈M3(R)X = \begin{pmatrix} x_1 \\ x_2 \\ x_3 \end{pmatrix} \in \mathcal{M}_3(\mathbb{R}) et Y=(y1y2y3)∈M3(R)Y = \begin{pmatrix} y_1 \\ y_2 \\ y_3 \end{pmatrix} \in \mathcal{M}_3(\mathbb{R}).
On a :

On a alors :

En factorisant par le terme 11−s\dfrac{1}{1 - s} on trouve que :

Or, on sait que M−1Y=XM^{-1} Y = X. Donc par identification, on trouve que :
M−1=11−s(−11s−11−s0001−s)M^{-1} = \dfrac{1}{1 - s}\begin{pmatrix} -1 & 1 & s-1 \\ 1 & -s & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 1-s \end{pmatrix}
Avec la condition d'existence suivante : s≠1s \neq 1.
En effet, si s=1s=1 alors 1−s=01-s=0 et de fait le terme 11−s\dfrac{1}{1 - s} n'existe pas, entrainant que la matrice inverse M−1M^{-1} n'existe pas non plus.
