Soit EE un R\mathbb{R}-espace vectoriel de dimension trois.
On désigne l'élément identité de EE par IdE\mathrm{Id}_E.
Soit u∈L(E)u \in \mathcal{L}(E) représentée, dans une certaine base B\mathcal{B} de EE, par la matrice AA suivante :
A=(102020201)A = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & 2 \\ 0 & 2 & 0 \\ 2 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}
Question 1

Déterminer les éléments propres de uu.
Ceci signifie qu'il vous faut déterminer l'ensemble des valeurs propres de AA (c'est-à-dire le spectre SpR(A)\mathrm{Sp}_{\mathbb{R}}(A)) et les vecteurs propres associés.

Correction
Soit λ\lambda une valeur propre réelle de uu.
Le polynôme caractéristique est donné par :
P(λ)=det⁡(A−λI3)=det⁡((102020201)−λ(100010001))=det⁡((102020201)+(−λ000−λ000−λ))P(\lambda) = \det(A - \lambda I_3) = \det \left( \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & 2 \\ 0 & 2 & 0 \\ 2 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} - \lambda \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} \right) = \det \left( \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & 2 \\ 0 & 2 & 0 \\ 2 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} + \begin{pmatrix} - \lambda & 0 & 0 \\ 0 & - \lambda & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & - \lambda \end{pmatrix} \right)
Soit :
P(λ)=det⁡((1−λ0202−λ0201−λ))=∣1−λ0202−λ0201−λ∣P(\lambda) = \det \left( \begin{pmatrix} 1 - \lambda & 0 & 2 \\ 0 & 2 - \lambda & 0 \\ 2 & 0 & 1 - \lambda \end{pmatrix} \right) = \begin{vmatrix} 1 - \lambda & 0 & 2 \\ 0 & 2 - \lambda & 0 \\ 2 & 0 & 1 - \lambda\end{vmatrix}
On factorise par le terme 2−λ2 - \lambda dans la deuxième colonne pour obtenir :
P(λ)=(2−λ)∣1−λ02010201−λ∣P(\lambda) = (2 - \lambda) \begin{vmatrix} 1 - \lambda & 0 & 2 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 2 & 0 & 1 - \lambda\end{vmatrix}
On va développer le déterminant présent suivant la deuxième colonne. On a alors :
P(λ)=(2−λ)×1×(−1)2+2×∣1−λ221−λ∣=(2−λ)×∣1−λ221−λ∣P(\lambda) = (2 - \lambda) \times 1 \times (-1)^{2+2} \times \begin{vmatrix} 1 - \lambda & 2 \\ 2 & 1 - \lambda\end{vmatrix} = (2 - \lambda) \times \begin{vmatrix} 1 - \lambda & 2 \\ 2 & 1 - \lambda\end{vmatrix}
D'où :
P(λ)=(2−λ)×((1−λ)2−22)=(2−λ)×(1−λ−2)×(1−λ+2)=(2−λ)×(−1−λ)×(3−λ)P(\lambda) = (2 - \lambda) \times \big( (1 - \lambda)^2 - 2^2 \big) = (2 - \lambda) \times (1 - \lambda - 2) \times (1 - \lambda + 2) = (2 - \lambda) \times (-1 - \lambda) \times (3 - \lambda)
Les valeurs propres de uu sont donc −1-1, 22 et 33. Autrement dit :
SpR(A)={ −1 ; 2 ; 3 }\mathrm{Sp}_{\mathbb{R}}(A) = \{ \, -1 \,;\, 2 \,;\, 3 \, \}
On constate que le spectre est constitué de valeurs propres toutes distinctes non dégénérées, donc toutes de multiplicité 11, et ceci implique que l'endomorphisme uu est diagonalisable.

Question 2

l'endomorphisme uu étudié est-il diagonalisable ? Justifié votre réponse.

Correction
On vient de démontrer que les valeurs propres de uu sont donc −1-1, 22 et 33. Autrement dit :
SpR(A)={ −1 ; 2 ; 3 }\mathrm{Sp}_{\mathbb{R}}(A) = \{ \, -1 \,;\, 2 \,;\, 3 \, \}
On constate que le spectre est constitué de valeurs propres toutes distinctes non dégénérées, donc toutes de multiplicité 11, et ceci implique que l'endomorphisme uu est diagonalisable.
Question 3

Si vous pensez que l'endomorphisme uu est diagonalisable, effectuer sa diagonalisation.

Correction
On a, d'après la question précédente, une base propre Bp\mathcal{B}_p suivante :
Bp=( (−101) ; (010) ; (101) )\mathcal{B}_p = \left( \, \begin{pmatrix} -1 \\ 0 \\ 1 \end{pmatrix} \,;\, \begin{pmatrix} 0 \\ 1 \\ 0 \end{pmatrix} \,;\, \begin{pmatrix} 1 \\ 0 \\ 1 \end{pmatrix} \, \right)
L'expression de la matrice de passage PB ⟶ BpP_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} est donnée par l'écriture, en colonne, des vecteurs propres de uu exprimés dans la base B\mathcal{B}. Donc on obtient :
PB ⟶ Bp=(−101010101)P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} = \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}
On a :
PBp ⟶ B=(PB ⟶ Bp)−1P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} = \big( P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} \big)^{-1}
Donc :
PBp ⟶ B=(−101010101)−1P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} = \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}^{-1}
Pour effectuer cette inversion, utilisons la méthode de LaplaceLaplace. On a :
PBp ⟶ B=1det⁡(PB ⟶ Bp) tcom(PB ⟶ Bp)P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} = \dfrac{1}{\det (P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} ) } \, ^t\mathrm{com}(P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} )
Avec :
det⁡(PB ⟶ Bp)=∣−101010101∣=1×(−1)2+2×∣−1111∣=∣−1111∣=(−1)×1−1×1=−1−1\det (P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} ) = \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1 \end{vmatrix} = 1 \times (-1)^{2+2} \times \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 1 \\ 1 & 1 \end{vmatrix} = \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 1 \\ 1 & 1 \end{vmatrix} = (-1) \times 1 - 1 \times 1 = -1 -1
Donc :
det⁡(PB ⟶ Bp)=−2\det (P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} ) = -2
Puis on a :
com(PB ⟶ Bp)=((−1)1+1∣1001∣(−1)1+2∣0011∣(−1)1+3∣0110∣(−1)2+1∣0101∣(−1)2+2∣−1111∣(−1)2+3∣−1010∣(−1)3+1∣0110∣(−1)3+2∣−1100∣(−1)3+3∣−1001∣)\mathrm{com}(P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} ) = \begin{pmatrix} (-1)^{1+1} \begin{vmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & (-1)^{1+2} \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 0 \\ 1 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & (-1)^{1+3} \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 1 & 0 \end{vmatrix} \\ \\ (-1)^{2+1} \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & (-1)^{2+2} \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 1 \\ 1 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & (-1)^{2+3} \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 \end{vmatrix} \\ \\ (-1)^{3+1} \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 1 & 0 \end{vmatrix} & (-1)^{3+2} \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 1 \\ 0 & 0 \end{vmatrix} & (-1)^{3+3} \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{vmatrix} \end{pmatrix}
Soit :
com(PB ⟶ Bp)=(∣1001∣−∣0011∣∣0110∣−∣0101∣∣−1111∣−∣−1010∣∣0110∣−∣−1100∣∣−1001∣)\mathrm{com}(P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} ) = \begin{pmatrix} \begin{vmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & - \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 0 \\ 1 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 1 & 0 \end{vmatrix} \\ \\ - \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 1 \\ 1 & 1 \end{vmatrix} & - \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 \end{vmatrix} \\ \\ \begin{vmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 1 & 0 \end{vmatrix} & - \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 1 \\ 0 & 0 \end{vmatrix} & \begin{vmatrix} -1 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{vmatrix} \end{pmatrix}
Soit encore :
com(PB ⟶ Bp)=(10−10−20−10−1)\mathrm{com}(P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} ) = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & -1 \\ 0 & -2 & 0 \\ -1 & 0 & -1 \end{pmatrix}
Ainsi :
tcom(PB ⟶ Bp)=(10−10−20−10−1)^t\mathrm{com}(P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} ) = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & -1 \\ 0 & -2 & 0 \\ -1 & 0 & -1 \end{pmatrix}
De fait, on en déduit que :
PBp ⟶ B=(−101010101)−1=1−2(10−10−20−10−1)P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} = \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1\end{pmatrix}^{-1} = \dfrac{1}{-2} \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & -1 \\ 0 & -2 & 0 \\ -1 & 0 & -1\end{pmatrix}
Finalement :
PBp ⟶ B=12(−101020101)P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} = \dfrac{1}{2} \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 2 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1\end{pmatrix}
On a :
PBp ⟶ B×A×PB ⟶ Bp=12(−101020101)×(102020201)×(−101010101)P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} \times A \times P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} = \dfrac{1}{2} \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 2 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1\end{pmatrix} \times \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & 2 \\ 0 & 2 & 0 \\ 2 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} \times \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}
Soit :
PBp ⟶ B×A×PB ⟶ Bp=12(10−1040303)×(−101010101)P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} \times A \times P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} = \dfrac{1}{2} \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 & -1 \\ 0 & 4 & 0 \\ 3 & 0 & 3 \end{pmatrix} \times \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}
Soit encore :
PBp ⟶ B×A×PB ⟶ Bp=12(−200040006)P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} \times A \times P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} = \dfrac{1}{2} \begin{pmatrix} -2 & 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 4 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 6 \end{pmatrix}
On peut donc en conclure que :
PBp ⟶ B×A×PB ⟶ Bp=(−100020003)P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} \times A \times P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p} = \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 2 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 3 \end{pmatrix}
Cette matrice représente l'expression matricielle de l'endomorphisme uu dans la base propre, soit ABpA_{\mathcal{B}_p}. Elle comporte les valeurs propres sur sa diagonale principale, dans le même ordre que celui des vecteurs propres associés. Donc, avec A=ABA = A_{\mathcal{B}}, on obtient :
ABp=PBp ⟶ B×AB×PB ⟶ BpA_{\mathcal{B}_p} = P_{\mathcal{B}_p \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}} \times A_{\mathcal{B}} \times P_{\mathcal{B} \, \longrightarrow \, \mathcal{B}_p}
