Question 1
Soit aa et bb deux nombres réels. On considère l'endomorphisme ff de R3\mathbb{R}^3 dont la matrice représentative A=MatB(f)A = \mathrm{Mat}_B(f), dans une base BB est :

Déterminer le polynôme caractéristique, noté Pf−3P_{f-3}, de ff.

Correction
Le polynôme caractéristique Pf−3P_{f-3} de ff est donné par :
Pf−3(λ)=∣a−λbbba−λbbba−λ∣P_{f-3}(\lambda) = \left| \begin{array}{ccc} a - \lambda & b & b \\ b & a - \lambda & b \\ b & b & a - \lambda \\ \end{array} \right|
On constate que chaque ligne à la même somme, à savoir 2b+a−λ2b + a - \lambda. Ainsi, on remplace la première colonne par la somme des des trois colonnes : C1⟵C1+C2+C3C_1 \longleftarrow C_1 + C_2 + C_3. On obtient alors :

Les valeurs propres de ff sont :

Montrer que ff est diagonalisable, et déterminer une base BpB_p de vecteurs propres.

L'équation x+y+z=0x+y+z=0 est un plan, donc un objet géométrique de dimension 2. Correction

Le calcul de la matrice PB⟶Bp−1=PBp⟶BP_{B \longrightarrow B_p}^{-1} = P_{B_p \longrightarrow B} peut se réaliser par l'usage du célèbre théorème de Cayley  &  HamiltonCayley \,\, \& \,\, Hamilton.
En effet, on a :

Comme ce déterminant est non nul, la matrice PB⟶BpP_{B \longrightarrow B_p} est inversible (on dit aussi reˊgulieˋrerégulière), et de fait PB⟶Bp−1P_{B \longrightarrow B_p}^{-1} existe.
