Question 1

Soit α\alpha un nombre réel.
Déterminer pour quelle valeur de α\alpha l'intégrale ∫0+∞(11+2x2−α1+x) dx\int_0^{+\infty} \left( \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2x^2}} - \dfrac{\alpha}{1+x} \right)\, dx est convergente.

Correction
Soit x⩾0x \geqslant 0. La fonction x⟼11+2x2−α1+xx \longmapsto \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2x^2}} - \dfrac{\alpha}{1+x} est continue sur R+\mathbb{R}^+, donc elle y est localement intégrable.
Posons :
I(x)=∫0x(11+2t2−α1+t) dtI(x) = \int_0^{x} \left( \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2t^2}} - \dfrac{\alpha}{1+t} \right)\, dt
On a :
I(x)=∫0x11+2t2 dt−∫0xα1+t dtI(x) = \int_0^{x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2t^2}} \, dt - \int_0^{x} \dfrac{\alpha}{1+t} \, dt
Soit :
I(x)=∫0x11+2t2 dt−α∫0x11+t dtI(x) = \int_0^{x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2t^2}} \, dt - \alpha\int_0^{x} \dfrac{1}{1+t} \, dt
Soit encore :
I(x)=∫0x11+2t2 dt−α∫0x(1+t)′1+t dtI(x) = \int_0^{x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2t^2}} \, dt - \alpha\int_0^{x} \dfrac{(1+t)'}{1+t} \, dt
Donc :
I(x)=∫0x11+2t2 dt−α[ln⁡(1+t)]0xI(x) = \int_0^{x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2t^2}} \, dt - \alpha \left[ \ln(1+t) \right]_0^{x}
Avec :
[ln⁡(1+t)]0x=ln⁡(1+x)−ln⁡(1+0)=ln⁡(1+x)−ln⁡(1)=ln⁡(1+x)−0=ln⁡(1+x)\left[ \ln(1+t) \right]_0^{x} = \ln(1+x) - \ln(1+0) = \ln(1+x) - \ln(1) = \ln(1+x) - 0 = \ln(1+x)
Ainsi :
I(x)=∫0x11+2t2 dt−αln⁡(1+x)I(x) = \int_0^{x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2t^2}} \, dt - \alpha \ln(1+x)
Concernant l'intégrale ∫0x11+2t2 dt\int_0^{x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2t^2}} \, dt, posons u=2 tu = \sqrt{2}\,t, donc dudt=ddt(2 t)=2ddt(t)=2×1=2\dfrac{du}{dt} = \dfrac{d}{dt} \left( \sqrt{2}\,t \right) = \sqrt{2} \dfrac{d}{dt} \left( t \right) = \sqrt{2} \times 1 = \sqrt{2}. Puis, remarquons que 2t2=22 t2=(2 t)2=u22t^2 = \sqrt{2}^2 \, t^2 = \left( \sqrt{2}\,t \right)^2 = u^2. Donc, on obtient :
I(x)=∫02 x11+u2 12 du−αln⁡(1+x)=12∫02 x11+u2 du−αln⁡(1+x)I(x) = \int_0^{\sqrt{2}\,x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+u^2}} \, \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \,du - \alpha \ln(1+x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \int_0^{\sqrt{2}\,x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+u^2}} \,du - \alpha \ln(1+x)
Mais, on sait que :
∫02 x11+u2 du=[argsinh(u)]02 x=[ln⁡(u+1+u2)]02 x=ln⁡(2 x+1+(2 x)2)−ln⁡(0+1+02)\int_0^{\sqrt{2}\,x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+u^2}} \,du = \left[ \mathrm{argsinh}(u) \right]_0^{\sqrt{2}\,x} = \left[ \ln\big( u + \sqrt{1+u^2} \big) \right]_0^{\sqrt{2}\,x} = \ln\big( \sqrt{2}\,x + \sqrt{1+\left( \sqrt{2}\,x \right)^2} \big) - \ln\big( 0 + \sqrt{1+0^2} \big)
Donc :
∫02 x11+u2 du=ln⁡(2 x+1+2x2)−ln⁡(1)=ln⁡(2 x+1+2x2)−ln⁡(1)=ln⁡(2 x+1+2x2)\int_0^{\sqrt{2}\,x} \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+u^2}} \,du = \ln\big( \sqrt{2}\,x + \sqrt{1+2x^2} \big) - \ln\big( \sqrt{1} \big) = \ln\big( \sqrt{2}\,x + \sqrt{1+2x^2} \big) - \ln\big( 1 \big) = \ln\big( \sqrt{2}\,x + \sqrt{1+2x^2} \big)
Ainsi, on obtient :
I(x)=12ln⁡(2 x+1+2x2)−αln⁡(1+x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\big( \sqrt{2}\,x + \sqrt{1+2x^2} \big) - \alpha \ln(1+x)
Comme x⟶+∞x \longrightarrow + \infty cela implique que 1x⟶0\dfrac{1}{x} \longrightarrow 0. Dans l'objectif de réaliser un développement limité, on va réaliser les transformations d'écritures suivantes :
I(x)=12ln⁡(2 x+2x2(12x2+1))−αln⁡(x(1x+1))I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( \sqrt{2}\,x + \sqrt{2x^2 \left( \dfrac{1}{2x^2}+1 \right)} \right) - \alpha \ln\left(x\left( \dfrac{1}{x}+1 \right)\right)
Soit :
I(x)=12ln⁡(2 x+∣2 x∣12x2+1)−α(ln⁡(x)+ln⁡(1x+1))I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( \sqrt{2}\,x + \left|\sqrt{2} \, x \right| \sqrt{ \dfrac{1}{2x^2}+1 } \right) - \alpha \left( \ln(x) + \ln\left( \dfrac{1}{x}+1 \right) \right)
Soit encore, puisque x⩾0x \geqslant 0 :
I(x)=12ln⁡(2 x+2 x(1+12x2)12)−α(ln⁡(x)+ln⁡(1+1x))I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( \sqrt{2}\,x + \sqrt{2} \, x \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}} \right) - \alpha \left( \ln(x) + \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right) \right)
Soit encore :
I(x)=12ln⁡(2 x(1+(1+12x2)12))−αln⁡(x)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( \sqrt{2}\,x \left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}} \right)\right) - \alpha \ln(x) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
D'où :
I(x)=12(ln⁡(2 x)+ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12))−αln⁡(x)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \left( \ln\left( \sqrt{2}\,x \right) + \ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) \right) - \alpha \ln(x) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Ce qui nous donne :
I(x)=12ln⁡(2 x)+12ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)−αln⁡(x)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( \sqrt{2}\,x \right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) - \alpha \ln(x) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Mais encore :
I(x)=12(ln⁡(2)+ln⁡(x))+12ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)−αln⁡(x)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \left( \ln\left( \sqrt{2} \right) + \ln\left( x \right)\right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) - \alpha \ln(x) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
D'où :
I(x)=12ln⁡(2)+12ln⁡(x)+12ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)−αln⁡(x)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( \sqrt{2} \right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( x \right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) - \alpha \ln(x) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Que nous allons écrire comme :
I(x)=12ln⁡(212)+(12−α)ln⁡(x)+12ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( 2^{\frac{1}{2}} \right) + \left( \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
En faisant usage des propriétés algébriques des logarithmes, on obtient :
I(x)=122ln⁡(2)+(12−α)ln⁡(x)+12ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{1}{2\sqrt{2}} \ln\left( 2 \right) + \left( \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Donc :
I(x)=24ln⁡(2)+(22−α)ln⁡(x)+12ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)−αln⁡(1+1x)I(x) = \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) + \left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) - \alpha \ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right)
On sait que 1x⟶0\dfrac{1}{x} \longrightarrow 0, donc :
(1+12x2)12=1+14x2+1x2ε(1x)\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}} = 1+\dfrac{1}{4x^2} + \dfrac{1}{x^2} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Avec lim⁡x⟶+∞ε(1x)=0\lim_{x \longrightarrow + \infty} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right) =0.
Ce qui implique que :
ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)=ln⁡(1+1+14x2+1x2ε(1x))=ln⁡(2+14x2+1x2ε(1x))\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) = \ln\left( 1 + 1+\dfrac{1}{4x^2} + \dfrac{1}{x^2} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right) \right) = \ln\left( 2+\dfrac{1}{4x^2} + \dfrac{1}{x^2} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right) \right)
Ce qui nous donne :
ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)=ln⁡(2(1+18x2+12x2ε(1x)))\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) = \ln\left( 2 \left( 1 + \dfrac{1}{8x^2} + \dfrac{1}{2x^2} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)\right)\right)
Donc :
ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)=ln⁡(2)+ln⁡(1+18x2+12x2ε(1x))\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) = \ln(2) +\ln\left( 1 +\dfrac{1}{8x^2} + \dfrac{1}{2x^2} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)\right)
Puis, lorsque X⟶0X \longrightarrow 0 on a ln⁡(1+X)=X+Xε(X)\ln\left( 1 + X \right) = X + X\varepsilon(X), on peut donc écrire que :
ln⁡(1+(1+12x2)12)=ln⁡(2)+18x2+1x2ε(1x)\ln\left( 1 + \left( 1+\dfrac{1}{2x^2} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) = \ln(2) +\dfrac{1}{8x^2} + \dfrac{1}{x^2} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Puis :
ln⁡(1+1x)=1x+1xε(1x)\ln\left( 1+\dfrac{1}{x} \right) = \dfrac{1}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
De fait, on obtient donc :
I(x)=24ln⁡(2)+(22−α)ln⁡(x)+12(ln⁡(2)+18x2+1x2ε(1x))−αx+1xε(1x)I(x) = \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) + \left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\left( \ln(2) +\dfrac{1}{8x^2} + \dfrac{1}{x^2} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right) \right) - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Ainsi :
I(x)=(24+12)ln⁡(2)+(22−α)ln⁡(x)−αx+1xε(1x)I(x) = \left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{4} + \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \right) \ln\left( 2 \right) + \left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Soit encore :
I(x)=(24+224)ln⁡(2)+(22−α)ln⁡(x)−αx+1xε(1x)I(x) = \left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{4} + \dfrac{2\sqrt{2}}{4} \right) \ln\left( 2 \right) + \left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
On obtient finalement :
I(x)=324ln⁡(2)+(22−α)ln⁡(x)−αx+1xε(1x)I(x) = \dfrac{3\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) + \left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
On constate alors que la limite lim⁡x⟶+∞I(x)\lim_{x \longrightarrow + \infty} I(x) à une valeur finie si et seulement si le terme (22−α)ln⁡(x)\left( \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} - \alpha \right) \ln\left( x \right) s'annule ce qui signifie que 22−α=0\dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} - \alpha = 0, à savoir α=22\alpha = \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2}.
En conclusion l'intégrale ∫0+∞(11+2x2−α1+x) dx\int_0^{+\infty} \left( \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2x^2}} - \dfrac{\alpha}{1+x} \right)\, dx est convergente si et seulement si α=22=12\alpha = \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}.
Question 2

Déterminer la valeur de cette intégrale.

Correction
On pose α=22\alpha = \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2}. Ainsi :
I(x)=324ln⁡(2)+0ln⁡(x)−αx+1xε(1x)I(x) = \dfrac{3\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) + 0 \ln\left( x \right) - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Soit :
I(x)=324ln⁡(2)+0−αx+1xε(1x)I(x) = \dfrac{3\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) + 0 - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right)
Donc, dans ce cas :
lim⁡x⟶+∞I(x)=lim⁡x⟶+∞(324ln⁡(2)−αx+1xε(1x))=324ln⁡(2)+lim⁡x⟶+∞(−αx+1xε(1x))\lim_{x \longrightarrow + \infty} I(x) = \lim_{x \longrightarrow + \infty} \left( \dfrac{3\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right) \right) = \dfrac{3\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) + \lim_{x \longrightarrow + \infty} \left( - \dfrac{\alpha}{x} + \dfrac{1}{x} \varepsilon \left( \dfrac{1}{x} \right) \right)
Finalement :
lim⁡x⟶+∞I(x)=324ln⁡(2)+0\lim_{x \longrightarrow + \infty} I(x) = \dfrac{3\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right) + 0
La valeur de l'intégrale ∫0+∞(11+2x2−12(1+x)) dx\int_0^{+\infty} \left( \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1+2x^2}} - \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}\left( 1+x \right) } \right)\, dx sera alors 324ln⁡(2)\dfrac{3\sqrt{2}}{4} \ln\left( 2 \right).
