Question 1

Soit xx un nombre réel.
Par une méthode directe (sans utiliser la dérivation), déterminer une expression simplifiée de arctan⁡(1+x2−x)\arctan \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x \right).

Correction
Soit x∈Rx \in \mathbb{R}.
Notons par A=arctan⁡(1+x2−x)A = \arctan \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x \right).
Comme ∀x∈R,  1+x2−x>0\forall x \in \mathbb{R}, \,\, \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x > 0 cela implique que A=arctan⁡(1+x2−x)∈]0 ; π2[A = \arctan \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x \right) \in \left] 0 \,;\, \dfrac{\pi}{2}\right[ . Ainsi :
tan⁡(A)=tan⁡(arctan⁡(1+x2−x))=1+x2−x\tan(A) = \tan \left( \arctan \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x \right) \right) = \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x
Ceci implique que :
(tan⁡(A))2=(1+x2−x)2   ⟺   (tan⁡(A))2=1+x2−2x1+x2+x2\left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x \right)^2 \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = 1 + x^2 - 2x\sqrt{1 + x^2} + x^2
Donc :
(tan⁡(A))2=1+2x2−2x1+x2   ⟺   1+(tan⁡(A))2=2+2x2−2x1+x2\left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = 1 + 2x^2 - 2x\sqrt{1 + x^2} \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, 1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = 2 + 2x^2 - 2x\sqrt{1 + x^2}
Ceci s'écrit également :
1+(tan⁡(A))2=2(1+x2)−2x1+x2   ⟺   1+(tan⁡(A))2=2(1+x2)2−2x1+x21 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = 2\left(1 + x^2\right) - 2x\sqrt{1 + x^2} \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, 1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = 2\left(\sqrt{1 + x^2}\right)^2 - 2x\sqrt{1 + x^2}
On a alors :
1+(tan⁡(A))2=21+x2(1+x2−x)   ⟺   1+(tan⁡(A))2=2(tan⁡(A)+x)(tan⁡(A))1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = 2\sqrt{1 + x^2} \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2}- x \right) \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, 1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 = 2 \left( \tan(A) + x \right)\left( \tan(A) \right)
De ce fait, on en déduit que :
1+(tan⁡(A))2tan⁡(A)=2(tan⁡(A)+x)   ⟺   1+(tan⁡(A))22tan⁡(A)=tan⁡(A)+x   ⟺   1+(tan⁡(A))22tan⁡(A)−tan⁡(A)=x\dfrac{1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2}{\tan(A)} = 2 \left( \tan(A) + x \right) \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2}{2\tan(A)} = \tan(A) + x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2}{2\tan(A)} - \tan(A) = x
Ceci nous donne donc :
1+(tan⁡(A))22tan⁡(A)−(2tan⁡(A))22tan⁡(A)=x   ⟺   1+(tan⁡(A))2−2(tan⁡(A))22tan⁡(A)=x   ⟺   1−(tan⁡(A))22tan⁡(A)=x\dfrac{1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2}{2\tan(A)} - \dfrac{\left( 2\tan(A) \right)^2}{2\tan(A)} = x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{1 + \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 - 2\left( \tan(A) \right)^2}{2\tan(A)} =x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{1 - \left( \tan(A) \right)^2 }{2\tan(A)} = x
On peut écrire ceci sous la forme suivante :
1−(sin⁡(A)cos⁡(A))22sin⁡(A)cos⁡(A)=x   ⟺   (cos⁡(A)cos⁡(A))2−(sin⁡(A)cos⁡(A))22sin⁡(A)cos⁡(A)=x   ⟺   cos⁡2(A)−sin⁡2(A)cos⁡2(A)2sin⁡(A)cos⁡(A)=x\dfrac{1 - \left( \dfrac{\sin(A)}{\cos(A)} \right)^2 }{2 \dfrac{\sin(A)}{\cos(A)}} = x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{ \left( \dfrac{\cos(A)}{\cos(A)} \right)^2 - \left( \dfrac{\sin(A)}{\cos(A)} \right)^2 }{2 \dfrac{\sin(A)}{\cos(A)}} = x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{ \dfrac{\cos^2(A) - \sin^2(A)}{\cos^2(A)} }{2 \dfrac{\sin(A)}{\cos(A)}} = x
On obtient :
cos⁡2(A)−sin⁡2(A)cos⁡(A)2sin⁡(A)=x   ⟺   cos⁡2(A)−sin⁡2(A)2sin⁡(A)cos⁡(A)=x   ⟺   cos⁡2(A)−sin⁡2(A)2sin⁡(A)cos⁡(A)=x   ⟺   cos⁡(2A)sin⁡(2A)=x\dfrac{ \dfrac{\cos^2(A) - \sin^2(A)}{\cos(A)} }{2 \sin(A)} = x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{ \cos^2(A) - \sin^2(A) }{2 \sin(A) \cos(A)} = x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{ \cos^2(A) - \sin^2(A) }{2 \sin(A) \cos(A)} = x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{ \cos(2A) }{\sin(2A)} = x
Soit :
cotan(2A)=x   ⟺   tan⁡(π2−2A)=x\mathrm{cotan}(2A) = x \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \tan\left( \dfrac{\pi}{2} - 2A \right) = x
Or, on sait que A∈]0 ; π2[A \in \left] 0 \,;\, \dfrac{\pi}{2}\right[ donc 2A∈]0 ; π[2A \in \left] 0 \,;\, \pi\right[ et −2A∈]−π ; 0[-2A \in \left] -\pi \,;\, 0 \right[. Ceci nous apprend donc que π2−2A∈]−π2 ; π2[\dfrac{\pi}{2} - 2A \in \left] -\dfrac{\pi}{2} \,;\, \dfrac{\pi}{2} \right[.
Ce qui nous permet d'écrire que :
arctan⁡(tan⁡(π2−2A))=arctan⁡(x)   ⟺   π2−2A=arctan⁡(x)   ⟺   −2A=arctan⁡(x)−π2\arctan \left( \tan\left( \dfrac{\pi}{2} - 2A \right) \right) = \arctan(x) \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, \dfrac{\pi}{2} - 2A = \arctan(x) \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, - 2A = \arctan(x) -\dfrac{\pi}{2}
On a alors :
−A=12arctan⁡(x)−π4   ⟺   A=−12arctan⁡(x)+π4- A = \dfrac{1}{2} \arctan(x) - \dfrac{\pi}{4} \,\,\, \Longleftrightarrow \,\,\, A = - \dfrac{1}{2} \arctan(x) + \dfrac{\pi}{4}
Finalement, comme nous avions initialement posé A=arctan⁡(1+x2−x)A = \arctan \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x \right), on obtient donc :
∀x∈R,  arctan⁡(1+x2−x)=−12arctan⁡(x)+π4\forall x \in \mathbb{R}, \,\, \arctan \left( \sqrt{1 + x^2} - x \right) = - \dfrac{1}{2} \arctan(x) + \dfrac{\pi}{4}
